First Phase Reform Programmes in Health Sector The State Govt. is committed to provide quality medical facilities to the people of Bihar. To fulfill this objective, many important programmes/ schemes are being implemented such as, Maternal Health Programmes, Child Health Programmes, Family Welfare Programmes, National Child Health Programmes, Regular vaccination Programmes, various types of National Vector Disease Control Programmes etc. and the efforts is to bring the facilities under the schemes to the public. Stunted Growth in children In order to control the Stunted Growth in children and to prevent IMR Growth in girls child, action plans has been made and targets and indices have been set for its monitoring. Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojna The major initiative of this scheme is to stop child marriage, educate and make every girl independent. The government provide a total amount of Rupees 54100/- from birth of a girl child till the completion of her graduation degree. The scheme is run by three departments viz Health Department, Social welfare Department and Education Department. Uniform Scheme Under this scheme every girl child is provided different amount for school uniform from Class first to class Eight. Bihar Satabdi Chief Minister’s Uniform Scheme Under this scheme, from class ninth to class twelfth an amount of Rupees 1500/- is provided to every girl for school uniform. Mukhyamantri Kishori Swasthya Karyakarm to help adolescent girl students maintain hygiene and purchase sanitary napkins an amount of Rupees 300 is provided. Chief Minister’s Girl Child Bicycle Scheme Every student of class Ninth is benefitted with amount for the purchase of bicycle. The main objective of this scheme is to increase the ratio of enrollment in schools. Chief Minister’s Girl Child Intermediate Incentive Scheme on passing Intermediate examination an amount of Rupees 10 thousand is provided to every girl( Unmarried), to promote higher education. Chief Minister’s Girl Graduation Incentive Scheme on passing Graduation examination an amount of Rupees 25 thousand is provided to every girl( Unmarried or Married), to promote higher education. |
Education Department | Monitoring of schools through BEST APP The state government has launched the best mobile app for qualitative improvement in the education of students studying in elementary schools. Through this mobile app, all the district and block level officers of the Education Department will monitor the presence of students in elementary schools falling in their respective areas every month. Also, through this mobile app, all kinds of information will be made available to the government. |

Social Welfare Department | Chief Minister Old Age Pension Scheme: - Each person at the age of 60 years and above, if they are not getting any other pension either from State or the Central Government will be covered under this Scheme. Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme: - Under this scheme, the old age person in the age group of 60-79 years of BPL families is provided a pension of Rs.400/- per month, in which Rs. 200/- is contributed by the Central government and Rs. 200/- by the State Government. State Social Security Pension Scheme: - Under this scheme, the old age pension of Rs. 400/- is provided to those elderly persons whose annual income in urban areas is Rs. 5500/- and in rural areas is Rs. 5000. In the case of a liberated bonded labour there is no restriction of income and age.This pension is entirely provided by State Government. |
